The total employee base of the survey was 446,633, with a total of 253,240 idea submissions, of which 93,034 were adopted. Submitted ideas for the 47 companies totaled $624,201,636 in calculated savings – an average of $2,465 in savings per idea.
When questioned about the impact a formal idea program had on their company, respondents of the survey most often mentioned the cost savings – produced through process improvements, elimination of waste, reduction of defects and cycle time, and increased customer satisfaction.
